About Diving
Scuba diving consists of the use of high pressure metal tanks attached to a diver's back. This air supply controlled by a regulator breathing device allows a diver to independently swim in deep waters. Additional equipment is frequently used including special apparel (i.e. wetsuits, gloves, hoods) along with supporting equipment such as a computer watches and buoyancy control. Buoyancy control equipment is often called Buoyancy Compensating Device (BCD) or Buoyancy Compensator (BC) or Stabilizing Jacket (Stab). These are used to easily add or subtract air while in the water and thus adjust the diver's buoyancy allowing the diver to easily descend and ascend through the depths of the waters. Other commen scuba diving equipment includes a divers mask and fins typically along with a snorkle.
